CCRCYA, RYA, RCYA and CYE celebrate golden jubilees

Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches Youth Association (CCRCYA), Riinguzumi Youth Association (RYA), Riphyim Catholic Youth Association (RCYA) and CYE Thenyizumi Baptist Church celebrated their respective golden jubilees. Two-day, CCRCYA golden jubilee was celebrated under the theme, “Jihova Tshe,” from December 15 to 17, 2023, hosted by Pfütsero Town CRC. The celebration began with a dedicatory service at the Mission Centre in Chetheba on December 15.


Rev Buliechü Koza led the dedication and the jubilee monolith stone was unveiled by Rev Zhowhuyi Nyekha, symbolising the significance of the event. The day also witnessed the consecration of the Jubilee Celebration tabernacle at Sports Complex Pfütsero, presided by Rev Dr Khape Ladu.


As the jubilee celebration progressed into its second day, participating churches showcased their musical talents that featured original solo, theme song and group song. The highlight of the day was the captivating rendition of the theme song “Jihova Tshe,” composed by Elijah Sono.


Speakers for the jubilee celebration were Chesezu CRC pastor-Rev Senüto Ringa, Council of Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches executive secretary-Rev. Z. David Koza, Council of Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches chairman-Rev. Zaseyi Veswuh and CCRC Upper PWD Kohima associate pastor-Dr. Rokosano Koza.


The jubilee concluded with an extravaganza programme where delegate churches presented a variety of artistic expressions, including solo performances, choreography, musical recitation, musical play, and drama. Renowned band Sweven made a special appearance during the event.

RYA: The golden jubilee celebration of Riinguzumi Youth Association (RYA) kick started on December 18 under the theme “Redefining Youth” at Riinguzu village under Phek district.
Gracing the inaugural ceremony, advisor of CAWD & Taxes, Kiidecho Khamo called upon the youth to have willpower to face the various challenges ahead.

The advisor maintained that the strength of mind was the supreme element to succeed in life.
He lauded Riinguzumi for its honest approach and leadership qualities in different fields.
He also commended the invaluable contributions of Padmashree M. Vero, first Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, Chonyi Chakhesang- first Deputy Commissioner amongst the Chakhesang tribe, Rev. Khrutsoyi Luruo- former State Chaplain, NPF Central working president Pusazo Luruo, all from Riinguzu village.


He also urged upon the youth to stay connected with the fast paced competitive world in education, sports and business sectors.
Deputy secretary, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Vekhoyi Chakhesang released RYA’s Golden Jubilee souvenir.


Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) president Vezhodiiyi Nakro and NPF (Central) Nagaland working president Pusazo Liiruo also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, RYA president Kiivekhwii Ringa delivered presidential address and the inaugural session was chaired by Vekhozo Ringa, Convenor, Planning Committee.


Meanwhile, jubilee championship tournament, featuring men football & women volleyball will be held on December 19. Colony tournament has been scheduled from December 20 to 23.

RCYA: Riphyim Catholic Youth Association (RCYA) celebrated golden jubilee at Don Bosco School Campus, Riphyim Village on December 15 and 16 under the theme ‘Lord increase our faith’, based on Luke 17:5.

The main celebrant on the inaugural day was Rev. Fr. Jojo Varakukalayil.
Rev. Fr. Varakukalayil spoke on repentance and forgiveness during his homely, while encouraging the community to spread love during this jubilee and asked for God’s Blessings by living a faithful life.


On the second day, the jubilee monolith was blessed and unveiled by Most Rev Dr James Thoppil Bishop of Kohima Diocese. Thoppil in his Homely reflected on the theme, urging youth to bolster their faith, drawing inspiration from St. John Paul’s wisdom that “Faith is strengthened when shared.” He envisioned the youth as the hope of tomorrow, encouraging them to embody Christian principles not just within the church but also in social life and the community. Reflecting on youth as both salt and light, he envisioned them adding flavor to society and brightening the darkness around them.


The celebration, attended by members, well-wishers, and former presidents, resonated with the call to live a faithful life, spreading love and embodying true Christian values. The celebration was attended by members, well-wishers and former presidents alongside ADC Wokha. Jubilee Greetings was delivered by jubilee convener, Aremo Patton, while president NCYM, Dr.Lawrence Kithan and president CAN, Johnny Ruangmei conveyed and encouraged the youth to increase and strengthen their faith in the Lord.

CYE Thenyizumi Baptist Church: Three-day golden Jubilee celebration of Thenyizumi Baptist Church, Christian Youth Endeavour held under the theme “Alive in Christ” concluded at Thenyizu village under Phek on December 17.

The discussions covered topics on living in Christ, unwavering truths in a changing world, challenges and opportunities for modern youth, hope amid uncertainty, presenting Christ in today’s world, and the youth’s mission.


In his speeches, Rev Dr. Suluveyi Rhakho emphasized the need to share the blessings of jubilee, fostering unity, love, and a renewed commitment to Christian journey. CABYF chairman Muthasheyi Chotso, extended greetings and expressed hope that the celebration would not merely bring people together for an event but would also serve as a time for reflection, contemplating God’s faithfulness in both our physical and spiritual journeys.


Convenor jubilee committee Selakhoyi Kapuh said the celebration was a significant occasion warranting a grand celebration, allowing for reflection on 50 years of God’s grace, blessings, and the unwavering spirit within the Christian journey. He emphasized the importance of uniting as one family, expressing faith and gratitude for the path guided by the Lord. During the celebration, a monolith was erected and dedicated by Vekhutso Resu, the first session chairman and jubilee souvenir was released by director of the Children & Education Department of CBCC.
