CCWA holds 6th convention in Chizami

Chakhesang Catholic Women Association (CCWA) observed its 6th convention from January 15 to 17, at Sacred Heart Parish, Chizami with the theme “In quietness and confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). 
The celebration culminated with Holy mass celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima.
Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart Parish, Chizami, Rev. Fr. Siby, accorded the words of welcome to all the delegates. Bishop congratulated the CCWA for living up to their faith and helping build exemplary Christian families and church. The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a solemn Eucharistic procession from the parish compound to the town.  During the procession the faithful sang songs and interceded for the peace, love, and unity, among individuals, families, states and nations. The programme was followed by short felicitation of newly elected office bearers. The new members would be held by Caroline Krome as president, Rone Shupao as vice president and Vina Anita Domeh as general secretary along with six other members. The bishop blessed them in their new responsibilities.
Earlier, NCYM former president, Teisovi Gerard, Patkai Christian College-Autonomous, assistant professor Wetshete Joseph Thopi, assistant Parish Priest, Chiephobozou Rev. Fr. Vemedo Kezo and CCYA president Ngupunyi Albert spoke on various topics such as signs and symbols of the catholic church, education key to change and women of faith. 
Meanwhile, devotional rosary was conducted by sisters of Sacred Convent, Chizami on January 15. The programme was also attended by Chakhesang Catholic Union president Bunyi Zholia, NPF farmer’s wing, Phek, president, Sanyi Dukru and NCWA vice president, Florete.
