DIMAPUR, JUN 21 (NPN)

The Chümoukedima District Badminton Association (CDBA) has announced that it will host the 2nd interschool badminton tournament on July 4 and 5 at the Tetso Arena, Tetso College, Sovima.
The tournament will feature young talents competing in boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles events across the following age categories: Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17. A special highlight of this year’s tournament will be the ‘Overall team Champion’ trophy, which will be awarded to the school with the best overall performance across all categories. This addition aims to foster school spirit, teamwork, and competitive excellence among the participating institutions.
President of CDBA said, “This tournament is not just a competition but a stepping stone for our young players. The introduction of the Overall team Champion Trophy adds a new level of excitement and motivation for schools to encourage participation and excellence. We are excited to host the second edition of the interschool tournament, which reflects our commitment to the
development of badminton at the school level. Our goal is to provide consistent opportunities for young players to shine and grow in the sport.”
The Chümoukedima District Badminton Association has also invited all schools, students, and the general public to join in supporting this celebration of youth, sportsmanship, and talent. The Chümoukedima District Badminton Association said the event is a significant step toward promoting grassroots-level badminton and identifying promising talents who can be nurtured and guided to higher levels of the sport, both state-wide and nationally. It will not only instil a sense of sportsmanship among schoolchildren but also encourage discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
