Census 2027 house listing begins with Lok Bhavan enumeration

DIMAPUR, JUL 1 (NPN): The house listing of Lok Bhavan, the official residence of Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav, was conducted on Wednesday as part of the House Listing Operations (HLO) for Census 2027.
According to a statement from Lok Bhavan, the exercise was led by Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer (PCO), Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, in the presence of the city census officer and other census officials.
The house listing was completed smoothly in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
The House Listing Operations and Housing Census, the first phase of the Census of India 2027, will be carried out across Kohima district from July 1-30, 2026.
According to a public circular issued by DC & PCO Kohima, the enumerators and supervisors would visit every household during the month-long exercise to collect information on housing characteristics, basic amenities and household assets.
The district administration assured that all information collected during the census would remain strictly confidential and protected.
It also appealed to citizens, village and ward authorities, and civil society organisations to extend full cooperation to census officials to ensure the successful conduct of an accurate and inclusive Census of India 2027.
