DIMAPUR: As part of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) being undertaken in the state, a Central PDNA team from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) visited Mon district on October 6, 2026. The team’s purpose was to assist concerned line departments in compiling and assessing the PDNA for the district.
During a short meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mon, Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak welcomed the central team and highlighted the damages caused by the 2026 monsoon. Line departments briefed the team on the extent of damages and submitted their reports, a DIPR report stated.
The central team comprised Mickey Mecon Dalbehera, Scientist E, CBRI Roorkee; Rohit Kumar, Assistant Professor, NIDM; Indranil Bose, Senior Consultant- Infrastructure Sector; Shashank Mishra, Lead Consultant, NDMA; Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, NIDM; C.P. Mohan, Senior Consultant-Productive Sector; Chandani P.C. Senan, Senior Consultant, NDMA; and L. Jonjibemo Odyuo, Assistant Manager (Relief, Recovery and Mitigation), NSDMA.
The team encouraged departments to ensure that all actual damages were properly recorded for accurate assessment.
