As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar held an interactive session with the Campus Ambassadors of various Government Higher Secondary Schools and colleges of Nagaland at the CEO Office chamber on February 22.
According to media cell of CEO, at the session V.Shashank encouraged the students to participate in the election in an ethical and fair manner. He also encouraged them to participate in the ongoing essay and video challenge organized by the CEO Office and also to inform fellow students about the challenge. The students shared their opinions on the current scenarios and their wish to usher in peace and development. They also shared about voting based on merit and capability and not by force due to money and pressure.
Essay and video making competitions
Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland will be organising essay writing and video making competitions as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme in connection with the upcoming 14th General Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023 on the topic “My Opinion of Elections in Nagaland”.
Essay should be comprised of 1500-2000 words and the video should be 3-5 minutes in duration. Entries should be submitted to ceonagaland.itcell@gmail.com on or before February 24 by 6 pm.
Heads of all Schools (Government/Private) functioning within the State of Nagaland have been advised to encourage students from their institutions to participate in the competitions as part of the (SVEEP) programme. Winners will be selected from each category and awarded certificates and cash prizes. All the videos and essays will be uploaded to the Chief Electoral Officer’s website and social media handles for wide publicity.
