A meeting with all recognized political parties of the state was organized by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland on December 19 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima in connection with the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll with effect from January 1, 2019 as the qualifying date.
According to DIPR, CEO, Abhijit Sinha, shared with the political parties various activities being undertaken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) so that an authentic and error free electoral roll could be drafted for use in the coming elections.
He also informed them that subject to the approval of the Commission, the final electoral rolls will be published on January 10, 2019.
Thereafter, if there are any additions, deletions or corrections to be made in the final electoral rolls, the same will be taken up under the continuous update exercises by concerned EROs.
The CEO also told all the Political Parties to appoint one Booth Level Agent in each Polling Station to review the Electoral Roll.
