CF with Kitovi group applicable in Eastern Naga areas: ENNWA

The Eastern Naga National Workers’ Association (ENNWA) has rejected a statement in the media that the recent ceasefire agreement between the central government and GPRN/NSCN (N Kitovi) was invalid and inapplicable in Eastern Naga territories.

Resolving this at an emergency meeting held at Khehoi designated camp on Monday, kilonser NT Yamthong and secretary F Pongba Konyak said the nomenclature ENNWA applied to all national workers serving under different groups, and that one particular group could not claim the nomenclature as it could hurt the sentiments of the ENPO people.

As the central government had invited N Kitovi’s group to sign the ceasefire agreement, the meeting stressed that his group should work according to the ceasefire ground rules within Nagaland.

The meeting also encouraged all peace-loving citizens, particularly those in the ENPO regions, to remain vigilant regarding potentially misleading statements, as their slogan was unity first and solution second.

Further, resolving to appoint new ENNWA office-bearers, the house unanimously elected kilonser NT Yamthong as chairman and F Pongba Konyak as secretary for the tenure 2025-2028.

The meeting also officially reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and working collaboratively under the leadership of president ‘maj’ (retd) RM Lotha, and ato kilonser N Kitovi.
