CFR training conducted in Peren district

The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the CD&HG (SDRF) Dimapur, conducted Community First Responder (CFR) at four sub divisions, Old Peren, Ahthibung, Ngwalwa and Jalukie (Dungki village) from May 23 to 27.
The concept of the CFR was based on the fact that the community was always the first responder in any disaster as they have an inherent capacity to respond immediately. In this regard, response would be fastest and most effective if responder was trained.
Basing on this concept and also drawing from past experiences the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority developed a module for training of the Community First Responders.
A total of 180 participants were trained on training module developed by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority covering  topics like first -aid, search and rescue methods, basic introduction to the human body, bandaging, CPR etc.
Community First Responder training is being conducted in phase wise manner in all the eleven districts.
