CGBU demands shifting of Dimapur DC’s office

Chakhroma GBs Union (CGBU) while expressing gratitude to the Centre for opening Passport Seva Kendra at the New DC office complex, Chümoukedima in Dimapur has however questioned the state government’s failure to shift the DC office, to its headquarters at Chümoukedima.
In a press release, CGBU president Thepfukedo Kuotsu and general secretary Atso Gwizan asked why was the government hesitant to shift the office and continue to function at its temporary camp at ADC office complex.
The union said when the new Dimapur district was created it was the government which proposed that the new district hqs would be at Chümoukedima. CGBU said the people therefore readily made available the land and gave every possible support.
However, it stated that even after a lapse of all these years, since the completion of the complex with all infrastructures, the office was yet to be shifted to the prepared site.
CGBU said it “seriously” viewed the reluctance and failure of the government to make DC hqs functioning till now as taking “undue advantage” of their “good nature and congeniality” and playing with the emotions of the people.
The union maintained that with patience running low, the youths were prepared to launch agitations against the government, but it was only with the intervention of the elders that the youths were being pacified and situation kept under control till now.
However, CGBU cautioned that if the government failed to take immediate steps to make the office functioning then there was likelihood of situations turning unpleasant, and for which the  government should be prepared to shoulder the responsibility.
