Chakhesang Chokri Bible released

 Chakhesang Chokri Bible (New Testament) was released by senior auxiliary secretary Bible Society of India Dimapur, Rev. Dr. Z. K Rochill on December 27 at Chakhesang Mission Centre Church.
During the release, Rev. Dr. Z. K Rochill stated that in 1970s, the Chokrimi and Kuzhami attempted to translate the Bible but for the sake of unity of the different dialectical groups they could not translate it.
 He informed that on June 27, 2014 the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) and Chakhesang Baptist Church Council gave an endorsement that any dialectical group under Chakhesang could translate Bible into their own dialects.
“The process of translating the Bible into Chokri dialect started and it is a historic moment that “we” are releasing Chakhesang Chokri Bible (New Testament) today,” Rev Rochill said.
The Chakhesang Kuzha Bible should also be brought out at the earliest he enthused and thanked ex-Pastor of Pfutsero Town Baptist church Rev. Zupelhi Mero, who is now 92 years for contributing Rs. 1 Lakh to the Bible Society of India.
 Rev. Dr. Rochill shared that the Bible is written with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16) and that the heavens and earth may pass away but the word of God shall never pass away. He stated that the word of God transformed the life of people and therefore it must richly dwell in the hearts of people.
The service was chaired by pastor CMCC Kuzhopoyo Tunyi while executive secretary CBCC, Rev. Dr.Vezopa Tetseo welcomed members and introduced Rev. Dr. Rochill.
He mentioned that Chokri Bible was released on December 27 and that translation for Kuzha Bible would begin from February 2016 by Rev. Kedoungulo Mero. 
Convener CBCC Gospel Literature Board, Rev. Khrotso Mero expressed gratitude to God, BSI and Chokri Gospel Literature Committee for bringing out the Bible into Chokri dialect. He also thanked translator, Rev. Vepocu Epao, assistant Ngotso Dasai and all the co-translators and committee members for rendering their best service to bring out the Bible into Chokri dialect.
It is important to translate Bible into “our” own dialects in order to properly understand the word of God and to help people to grow in their faith, stated chairman Chokri Gospel Literature, Rev. Thikhuo Pheaso.
tExecutive secretary, council of Chakhesang Revival Churches Rev. Vevozo Khamo and translator Rev. Vepocu Epao also spoke in the programme.
