Chakhesang Scholars’ Forum (CSF) chairman, Dr. Zavise Rume, said the forum was launched on April 21, 2021, with the objective of promoting healthy interactions on academic issues and academic excellence.
Speaking at the installation programme of CSF office bearers for the tenure 2024-27 cum sharing of research experiences on May 25 at Pfütsero Government College (PGC), Dr. Rume said the forum envisages sharing intellectual resources, creating a resourceful academic body, providing authentic information and acting as a think-tank for Chakhesang community.
Dr. Rume attributed promoting teaching, research, publication, and extension programmes like seminars and workshops as some of the agendas of the CSF. He added the forum also aims to promote scientific and empirical facts in the academic and research fields.
Dr. Rume then called upon the members of CSF to play a proactive role and join hands to promote the objectives of the forum.
Exhorting the gathering, CSF advisor, Hüsazü Epao, urged the members to think seriously and start doing something worthwhile. CSF being a respectable forum, Epao said it should become a depository of information and an essential establishment of the Chakhesang community.
Stating that there are many issues confronting the Chakhesang community, Epao encouraged the forum to carry out serious research and create solutions to those issues. He also expressed concern over the quality of research and called for renewed focus on rigorous research. Chakhesang Public Organisation, president, Vezuhu Keyho, said CSF was the need of the hour for the Chakhesang community, adding that the forum should not only remain an association but be the think-tank of the community.
The session was moderated by assistant professor, department of economics PGC, Chothazo Nienu, a welcome note was delivered by CSF secretary (academic), Nüveta Khüsoh, secretary report and treasurer report by CSF general secretary, Wepekhro Wetsah and prayer for the newly nominated office bearers by Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Centre Church Pastor Rev. Dr. Kuzhopoyo Tunyi.
Meanwhile, CSF office bearers would be led by Dr Zavise Rume as chairman, Dr. Hüsazülü C. Khamo as vice chairman, Neipre-ü Mero as general secretary along with five other members.
