Chakhesang Students Union [CSU] as per the standing resolution of the 2nd union assembly 2024-2026, resolved to fight against illegal taxation, extortion and corruption, and has rolled out tax-free initiative.
In a press release CSU vice president, Povozo Soho and finance secretary, Rhilo Chiero, informed that the tax-free initiative was taken in view of the critical role of youths and students in fostering economic growth and self-employment through entrepreneurship and business ventures.
Under the tax-free initiative, young entrepreneurs will be encouraged and supported to establish their business without the additional burden of taxes, to create conducive atmosphere for innovation and enterprise, and facilitate economic stability and self-sufficiency within the community.
Therefore, CSU informed all non-government organisations (NGOs)/political groups existing within Chakhesang jurisdiction to refrain from extortion or collection of any form of tax or levy from the youths and students and any existing business operating by the locals.
CSU further cautioned that any organisations, union, group or individuals found violating the standing resolution will face stringent action from the CSU. It also informed everyone to report in the event of any such practices.
