Chakhroma Students’ Union 40th general conference concludes

The 40th general conference of the Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) held at Tsiepama village concluded on Sunday with Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio as the special guest.


Speaking at the valedictory programme, Zhaleo Rio congratulated the CSU executives for successfully conducting the 40th general conference of the Chakhroma Students’ Union. He pointed out the importance of mother tongue as it defines one’s identity, while adding that even the UGC has approved Tenyidie as a subject.


Rio also stressed on a broad mindset to live in harmony with each other, for the betterment of Naga society and encouraged the students to set a clear goal and strive for it.


Speeches were delivered by both outgoing president and president elect. A new team has been elected for tenure 2025-2027 to be led by Menokhrielie Chalieu as president and Rokoselie Geisuo as general secretary, Zhasakholie Kehie as tribunal general, Kezhawhelie Richa and Zapuvizo Khroitsu as members.


President Western Sumi Students’ Union, Ikato khulu delivered greetings, where he stressed on a stronger bond between CSU and WSSU, and pledged to work together hand in hand for a better future.


Earlier, devotional service was also held where associate Pastor Christian Revival Church Sovima and principal Hope Institute of Theology, Zhau Sanchu, delivered his message by referring the passage on Bible.

He also stressed on the importance of being a firm believer and to choose the path of God, besides he also shared some of his old memories involving in students related activities 30 years ago. He also served as the president of Northern Angami Students’ Union.
