Changki villagers return

Ninety days after they were expelled from their village on April 21 and took refuge at a makeshift camp in Mokokchung, members of Changki villagers today left for their village. The move came after an ultimatum was served by the Ao Senden at its general public meeting on July 15 for compliance of the directives within three days period which ended today. Under the active participation of the ABAM Peace Committee, the villagers left for their village this morning accompanied by various organizations and well wishers after a brief prayer program at the camp. Upon arrival, the members were welcomed at the Changki village gate and were led into the village. However, no outsiders were allowed inside the village gate today except the members of Changki village who were expelled earlier.
