Changkikong Kaketshir Mungdang conference ends

Three-day Changkikong Kaketshir Mungdang 51st general conference concluded in a high note at Waromung, Friday with Parliamentary secretary for Tourism, C Apok Jamir as the guest of honour.
Speaking at the programme, Apok urged the youth to develop a sense of ownership and belongingness for a healthy future.  He said youth should not be satisfied only on their educational degree but aim for all-round development.
Apok Jamir said youth should understand ones aspiration in life and continuously persist towards achieving their goal.
Stating that not everyone can be government employees, Apok urged the youth to work hard in whatever profession they take up and excel in it.
He also said that the public should start developing a sense of belongingness and have a sense of ownership in whatever developmental activities brought about by the government.
Meanwhile, in the valedictory function, Chairman DAN, NBRM Dr. Longri spoke about the road condition of the Changkikong range.
In this regard, he informed that the chief minister, T.R. Zeliang was also concerned about the pathetic road condition of Changkikong range and added that the road construction work has been already initiated.
While exhorting the youth, Dr. Longri said Naga society today needs revolution in three fields’ i.e. human development, economic development and social development.
He also asserted that there was not lack of opportunities for hardworking people in the society adding that those willing to work hard would find ways of employment. Dr. Longri then urged youth to work hard and stop depending on government jobs only.
In the programme, the conference choir presented special songs while renowned Ao band Samaro entertained the gathering. Prizes for the folk song competition were also handed out by the guest of honor, Dr. Longri at the valedictory programme. The first prize was won by Khar Students’ Union, second prize by Luyong Students’ Union and third by Waromung Students’ Union.
A bumper prize was also given to the best exhibition stall at the conference (unanimously adjudged by minister for education, Yitachu and parliamentary secretary C Apok Jamir) which was awarded to Luyong Students’ Union.
Certificates of merit were also awarded to successful scholars and achievers at the conference
