Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) set up at Kiyezhe village

KVK Kiphire, ICAR for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre and district administration, Kiphire established Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) at Kiyezhe Village on September 15, funded by NITI Aayog Aspirational District Special Grants.
The centre was inaugurated by EAC, Sitimi Ihuilung Chuilo.


Speaking on the occasion, Chuilo appreciated the effort of KVK in mechanising the farming in the area and encouraged the farmers to make best use of the centre.
Highlight about the project, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Dr. N. Khumdemo Ezung, informed that the centre was set up since it was not possible to provide farm machinery to each and every farmers but required machines for cultivation will be provided by the centre.


He further informed that soybean cultivation project and oil expeller project will be implemented in the area and encouraged the farmers to take up toria cultivation on a large scale since they have a market to sell their produce.


He also encouraged the farmers to produce seeds at their own level so that they can plan well ahead for cultivation. Short speeches were also delivered by officer from Agri and allied departments including farmers representative and official from NEIDA.


Training and demonstration was also conducted on operation and maintenance of the machines was conducted by AFA and Store Keeper, DAO office, Kiphire Setsiba Sangtam.
Earlier, the program was chaired by CEO of Orchid FPO, Sitimi Jubika Yepthomi. Altogether 70 farmers attended the programme.
