The Vision Nagaland Hall was formally inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr. J. Alam, at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, on Thursday, marking a key milestone in the institute’s infrastructure development.
According to a DIPR report, the ceremony featured the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and a ribbon-cutting. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Alam commended the engineering team and ATI officials for their successful execution of the project despite budgetary limitations. Highlighting the role of ATI in hosting high-level government training programmes with national and international faculty, he underscored the importance of upgraded facilities and reiterated the need for continuous investment in human resource development.
He lauded inter-departmental collaboration as pivotal to the project’s success and thanked the Finance and Planning Department for their timely release of funds. Assuring future support, he encouraged ATI to undertake similar improvements going forward.
ATI Director and Secretary for Economics & Statistics, Akunu S. Meyase, welcomed dignitaries and noted that the hall, originally constructed in 2008-2009, underwent much-needed renovations in 2025. She affirmed ATI’s commitment to excellence through enhanced infrastructure, faculty, and training programmes, and cited ongoing training for heads of government offices, NCS, and NSS probationers.
A technical report was presented by Executive Engineer of PWD (Housing), Er. Akule Pusa, detailing the planning, design, materials used, and budget. The renovation, initiated on April 3, 2025, was completed within three months at a cost of Rs. 40 lakhs. The hall now accommodates 80 to 100 participants.
The event began with a dedicatory prayer by Parish Priest and Rector of Christ the King Church, Kohima Village, Rev. Fr. C. M. Joseph. Officials from Finance, Planning, P&AR Departments, and representatives from NCSA, NPSA, NSSA, CANSSEA, NIDA, FONSESA, NF&ASA, along with invited resource persons, attended the programme.
