Chiephobozou sub-division holds departmental meet

DIMAPUR

The monthly Head of Departments meeting under Chiephobozou Sub-Division was held on Thursday at DB’s Court, ADC Office, Chiephobozou, Kohima district. The meeting focused on key departmental updates, policy implementation, and infrastructure developments.
According to a DIPR report, highlighting efforts under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) initiative, senior supervisor from the Social Welfare Department, Vilakienuo, stressed the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful workplace, particularly for women. She outlined the mechanism for reporting and addressing cases of sexual harassment, noting that such initiatives are primarily overseen by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. She informed that the names of members of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) including a presiding officer, employee representatives, and external members from NGOs have been submitted to the ADC, Chiephobozou.
On the environmental front, SDO (PHED), Sedevilie Suohu, presented updates regarding non-biodegradable waste management. He stated that plastic storage units have been installed in all villages under the subdivision. Collected waste is transported to the segregation unit at Botsa and a Boiling Machine at Chiephobozou. These components, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), are nearing completion.
ADC Chiephobozou, Alemyapang Longchar, chaired the meeting and engaged with departmental representatives on monsoon preparedness and other key issues. He welcomed the presence of dignitaries including Fr. Richard Fernandes of Don Bosco School Chiephobozou; Vilakienuo and Avibu Mepfuo from the Social Welfare Department; Visato Sakhrie, JE (PWD Construction Division); and Sedevilie Suohu, SDO (PHED).
