Child rights awareness programme held in Dimapur

SPATIAL Project under Can Youth organized a one-day awareness programme on significance of child rights with Childline central coordinator, Lozua Kape as the resource person on September 26. 

A press release by Can Youth project coordinator, Lairing Dau Jigdung stated that, Lozua Kape introduced Childline to the participants and its different aspects. She stated that human trafficking was the most common in the form of child abuse which is violation of Child Rights. She stated that children are no safer even in our own district and states, as per the survey, 2018-19 there were 1407 cases of child abuse in Dimapur, with child loss ranging as the highest form of rights violation (21.82%). Earlier, Lairing Dau Jigdung, project coordinator gave a brief introduction, while Kewidinwangliu Newmai, trainer of SPATIAL Project, Can Youth gave vote of thanks. 
Programme was attended by the members of Dimapur Eastern Naga Students Union (DENSU) and its units, members and interns of Can Youth.
