A week-long Child Rights Week was observed by DCPU Dimapur along with Child-Helpline-DCPU Dimapur under the aegis of Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare.

Children Rights Week in Dimapur began with celebration of Children Day on November 14 at Chavara Children Home, where Aying Wangsha NSCPCR encouraged the student to recognize and nurture their God-given talents. K. Esther Sumi PO(IC) DCPU Dimapur also highlighted on Child Rights.
On November 15, DCPU along with CHL-DCPU and CWC celebrated Children Day with the theme “Every Child, Every Right” with children of CCIs under Dimapur District. The program began with invocation by Husheli Sumi, Counsellor DCPU and was marked with drawing, poetry, and online singing competition.
Keynote address was given by Avika Zhimomi DCPO, DCPU Dimapur and a brief highlight on 1098 was shared by Ng. Rangdouliu, case worker CHL-DCPU Dimapur.
On November 16, the DCPU, CHL Dimapur organized an awareness program at Bethlehem Church where Moajungla, LCPO – DCPU Dimapur, spoke on the Rights of the Child and POSCO Act. Arenla C. Phom PO(NIC) also shared about Adoption Rules 2022, while Ng. Rangdouliu Case Worker highlight on Child-Helpline 1098.
On November 18, a penalty shoot-out was carried out by the DCPU Dimapur with the Children of Open Shelter Home (CEC) Dimapur.
The week long Child Rights program ended with an awareness program on Child Rights on 19/11/2025 by DCPU-CHL Dimapur, with the four-wheeler taxi drivers at the railway station taxi stand to safeguard and ensure the safety and well-being of Children.

Mokokchung: District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Mokokchung observed the week long Child Rights Week from November 14 to 20, with a series of programmes centred on child rights and protection. The week-long campaign was themed “Every Child Matters – Every Right Counts.” November being Adoption Month, awareness on legal adoption was also conducted simultaneously.
The campaign focused on institutional care, church and community. Under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Samuel Kapu, DCPU Mokokchung visited Care & Support Children Home at Tsümarshiong, Chungtia, on November 14 to commemorate Children’s Day. A painting competition was organised for children across categories, graced by Assistant Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajay Moktan, and ended with a feast.
On November 16, awareness programmes were held at Chungtia Baptist Church and Sabangya Baptist Church with Protection Officer (NIC) T. Asola Imsong and District Supervisor (Child Helpline) Imnatola as resource persons. They emphasised legal adoption, child rights and services provided by the helpline.
A one-day sensitisation and awareness programme on child protection and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was conducted at Chungtiayimsen Community Hall on November 19. Resource persons included Protection Officer (NIC) T. Asula Imsong and District Supervisor (Child Helpline) Takotila Jamir. The programme focused on the community and migrant workers in brick kiln/manufacturing units under Mangkolemba block.
The week-long observance concluded with a radio conversation featuring T. Asula Imsong, Imnatola and Takotila Jamir, who discussed child rights and protection.
According to organisers, the programmes aimed to raise awareness on safeguarding children from abuse, neglect and exploitation, while highlighting the role of individuals and communities in ensuring their safety and well-being.

Chumoukedima: Eliezer Public School, Chumoukedima A Village, observed Child Rights Week in commemoration of Child Rights Day on November 20 at the school premises.
In a press release by Eliezer Public School, Chümoukedima A Village, Administrator Aosenla Imchen stated that the programme was organized in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Chumoukedima. As part of the observance, the team organised a workshop and awareness programme to sensitize students on Child Rights and the Right to Education. The session also promoted awareness on Child Helpline 1098 and highlighted the importance of understanding good and bad touch.
