Children’s Parliament Initiative-II held in Peren

Children’s Parliament Initiative-II under the aegis of Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) organized district level stakeholder and strategy development meeting with the stakeholders-cum-general election and assembly of the Peren District Level Children’s Parliament on August 25, at St. Xavier Parish, Jubilee Hall- Jalukie.


The event was graced by ADC Jalukie TL Kiusumong Tikhir and SDPO and head of the District Special Juvenile Police Unit (DSJPU) Peren Atu Zumvu.


In his address, TL Kiusumong said that Children’s Parliament was a privilege for children and encouraged them to take active part in its various initiatives and build leadership skills for empowering oneself. Atu Zumvu, spoke on “Scope for children’s participation for child rights protection in relation to cyber crime”.


Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Social Welfare Department, Jalukie, Ekonthung Kikon, spoke on “Scope for children’s collaboration with the social welfare to safeguard child rights” and National Tobacco Control Programme Peren (NTCP) social worker Hoineichin Singson, spoke on “scope for children’s participation in DTTC for control of tobacco consumption by children in the district”.


Earlier, senior program officer-DAN Jiji Joseph, delivered the welcome address and shared about the strategy for district level children’s parliament.
