Chozuba Community Health Centre (CHC), organized dengue awareness campaign at Government Higher Secondary School Chozuba on October 3. Speaking at the programme, SMO Dr. Lolekhol Pucho highlighted on the symptoms, causes, do’s and dont’s and how to prevent from dengue fever.
He informed that dengue fever was not contagious, however added that when a mosquito bites a person who has dengue fever, the mosquito becomes infected which could spread the virus to other people by biting them.
SMO mentioned that symptoms includes high fever, headache, body aches, nausea and rash, which most people recover within a week, but added that in some cases, symptoms could be worsen and become life-threatening.
He also urged the audience to use insect repellent, to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants and to control mosquitoes inside and outside the home and to not let water stagnant as preventive measures.
Pucho, further added that the Community Health Centre Chozuba hospital and it’s staff were ready for any doubts, for checkup or inquiries regarding the dengue fever or any other illnesses and informed not to be panic in the event of any signs or symptoms.
