Christians in Nagaland celebrate Easter Sunday

Along with the rest of the world, Christians in Nagaland too celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ by organising special Resurrection Sunday/Easter Sunday devotional services.
KLBC: Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (KLBC) D. Block celebrated the Lord’s Resurrection Day/Easter Sunday at the Church premises. In his sermon, Pastor Rev. N.Silubo Zeliang said Jesus, the powerful son of God, conquered the death and reigned. He said the resurrection of Christ demonstrates, God saving His people from their sin.
“His perfect sacrifice of dying on the cross saved us from sin and through the resurrection of Christ we found the faith that we will ultimately be in eternal relationship with God,” said Rev. Zeliang. During the celebration, KLBC youth department presented a skit on Christ’s forgiveness. The programme culminated with an Easter feast.
SFXCC: St Francis Xavier Catholic Church Kidima celebrated Easter with Don Bosco Panamai (Manipur) principal, Reverend Father Frank, SDD, as main the celebrant.
In the homily, Fr Frank asked the parents whether like St Paul there were imitating Christ to guide their children. He said Catholics were the “risen” and those who have strong faith and abide the word of God would not face the “tragedy in life”. Highlights of the celebration included special number by fathers and youth association, baptism, “eucharist with the word of God fest”, and a fellowship meal.
Miqlat Ministry: Miqlat Ministry NBCCWD in collaboration with United Christian Church, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Baptist Revival Church, Christ King Church of Seluophe Village and Gorkha Baptist Church of Singrijan Village observed the first ever Easter Sunrise Service together, on April 9 at Amphitheatre, Seluophe Model Village.
