Church leaders sensitised on malaria elimination

One day awareness seminar on malaria elimination for church members under Longleng district was conducted by National Centre for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC), Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Longleng office on April 19 at the Conference Hall, CMO Longleng office.
A press release by CMO Longleng office informed that spokesperson, district vector borne consultant, A Nyumoi Phom gave a PowerPoint presentation on malaria elimination, ancient history of malaria, causes and its risk factors, preventive measures from malaria infections, testing of malaria, Dos and Don’ts.
She said malaria was a serious life-threatening disease that led to millions of deaths yearly but was a preventable and could be totally eradicated at the primary level with the help from churches, societies, students, etc.
A brief introduction on malaria and its causes was given by malaria inspector NCVBDC, Rongsentemsu.
The seminar was attended by pastors, associate women pastors, Christian educators, youth pastors, youth secretaries, church members from churches under Longleng district.
