Church, organisation celebrate Christmas

St Francis Xavier Catholic Church Kidima under diocese of Kohima celebrated Christmas on December 25 with the preparation of novena from December 16 with Reverend Father Kurian P, administrator of S.F.S. seminary, Medziphema as main celebrant.

A press release from the church informed that while speaking on the occasion, Reverend Father Kurian referred to saint John 3:16 “everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.”
Reverend Father Siby John, Parish Priest addressing the Christmas vigil congratulated the community members for having successfully constructed the new church.
The Parish Priest said “every Holy Mass celebration was a new experience with God” and emphasised on the meaning of vigil wait for the born of Christ to the world for the saviour.
Exhorting that the purpose of Christ born to the world was to bring darkness to light and liberation from sin, he urged upon the faithful to surrender to Jesus, who forgave sins, preached, taught and healed the sick. 
Further, Fr Kurian appealed the faithful to live the role model of Jesus, Mary and Joseph with kindness, humility, compassion and peace.
The administrator of SFS suggested Kidima Catholic community to come and pray term by term before the Blessed Sacrament in the church and not leave Jesus alone.
Novena, blessing and honouring Christmas crib, confession, baptism of infants, reading of the words of God and Eucharist celebration followed by fellowship meal were the highlights of the programme.
Matri Foundation: Matri Foundation organised a Christmas event at the church ground.
In a press release, Matri Foundation informed that the organisation put up a banner of the foundation and distributed red tea, sweets, cakes and Christmas hats to all the visitors.
