Churches and Hospitals take centre stage for festive decor

Along with homes, shops and roads in Dimapur which light up the night with various Christmas lightings, Churches and Hospitals are also in the forefront to add to the cheer for all beholders. There are also some colonies such as Indisen and others which have consistently put up impressive lighting with decorative lights. The eye catcher in some colonies are the Nativity Scene depicting the birth of Christ in a manger.
Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA ) Youth Pastor, MaongtoshiLongshir explained that the decorations were meticulously arranged to share the good news of the birth of Christ.

Longshir however lamented cases when decorations were stolen or damaged by miscreants. Thaekhu Village Baptist Church Youth Pastor, Kivigho Chishi, said the decorations at the church were themed around the birth narrative of Jesus Christ. He said the objective was aimed at not only to celebrate but also to convey a meaningful message of mission through gathering.

Hospitals have also ignited a festive transformation to offer patients a respite from clinical surroundings. Director of Eden Medical Centre, Dr. Lima Imchen, highlighted the annual tradition of putting up decorations, emphasizing their role in elevating spirits and bringing hope to patients facing physical and emotional challenges.

He acknowledged the contributions and collaboration from hospital staff to ensure every corner radiates festive spirit, recognizing the importance of emotional well-being alongside medical care. In this festive tapestry, Churches and Hospitals become beacons of light, offering a shared experience of the season’s goodwill.

The purpose of creating these welcoming spaces transcend religious and cultural boundaries, embodying the universal themes of love, compassion, and healing power of the community. As the decorations continue to illuminate these spaces, they stand as a testimony to the enduring spirit of Christmas, bringing comfort and joy to all who are touched.
