CIH conducts awareness programme

Central institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, Nagaland in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) conducted an awareness programme on “scope and importance of bees, beekeeping and honey” at Wolam Nyukeng village under Noklak block of Noklak district. 

The inaugural programme was followed by a technical session with hands on demonstrations on scientific beekeeping and management with resource persons from NBHM, C. Francis Kikon, Phem Khmn and Mhathung T Tsopoe.

Topics on importance of beekeeping and role of bees in pollination and crop production, handling and management of scientific bee box, site selection, routine and seasonal management, types of bees, etc., were covered at the programme.

Earlier, village council chairman, Wolam Nyukeng gave the concluding remarks followed by an interactive session. Altogether, 50  people participated in the training.
