Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI, Medziphema, conducted a three-day trainers’ training program on “Production of quality planting materials and accreditation of nursery of fruit crops” from October 9 to 11.
A press release from PA to director CIH, Imtinaro stated that, Dr. N.K Patle, deputy commissioner, DAC & FW and director in-charge, CIH, Medziphema, exhorted the participants and deliberated on the importance of production of quality planting materials and accreditation of horticultural nursery. Special guest, Dr. D.J. Rajkhowa, joint director, ICAR-Nagaland Centre in his brief remark applauded CIH for organizing such trainings for state officials and he also urged the participants to make the best of the training program. The resource persons for the three-day training were Dr. Heiplanmi Rymbai, scientist, ICAR, Umiam, Meghalaya. Dr. Lembisana Devi, scientist, ICAR, Tripura centre, prof. Alemienla Ao, dept. of Entomology, NU, SASRD, Dr. A.K. Sarkar, asst. Professor of Horticulture, NU, SASRD, Kavi Sumi, scientist, ACRIP, SASRD and A.K. Singh, horticulture specialist, CIH, Medziphema. Altogether 18 officials from all the districts of Nagaland participated in the training program.
At the inaugural program, chairperson, Dr. Moasosang Longkumer, assistant horticulture specialist, CIH, Medziphema, delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was delivered by Kewecheu, HEA.
