CIHSR holds 4th graduation ceremony

Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) on Friday held its 4th graduation ceremony of Nursing, Allied health sciences and DNB at LG hall. A total of 151 degrees were awarded this year and nine of them completed diploma course from various medical fields.
Addressing the ceremony, chairperson, Nagaland State Human Rights Commission, Justice Songkhupchung Serto, the chief guest of the event, congratulated the graduates and reminded them that medical profession was the noblest profession as it comes with a huge responsibility including dedication service to save life. He also reminded the students that graduate’s life would be more meaningful and purposeful when they use the profession to serve, nurture and transform life and encouraged to empower their professions to make greater impact to the society. He also recalled the vision of Dr. Sedevi Angami for setting up hospital and medical College when they met at a meeting, and acknowledged him for transforming his dreams into reality. Principal, college of nursing Christy Simpson, in her speech said that graduation was not the end, but the beginning, and maintained that serving people with different capacity was the greatest profession. She reminded the graduates on the five Cs-compassion, competitive, confident, conscious and committed.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by director CIHSR Dr. Sedevi Angami and invocation by deputy director Dr. Viu Meru. Highlights of the programme included Head of allied health sciences (AHS) Dr. Paul Ravindran administering pledge to the graduates, distribution of certificate to graduates by chief guest, distribution of diploma certificates by Dr Sedevi Angami, distribution of merit certificates by Dr. Christy Simpson, Nursing superintendent, CIHSR A Purnungla Aier and Dr. Paul Ravindran, distribution of Academic excellence by chief guest.
