Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Monday, handed over 468 numbers of blood pressure (BP) instruments to the department of Health & Family Welfare, to be distributed at District Health Centres in Nagaland.
In a press release, H&FW IEC bureau stated that during a brief programme, CII Nagaland State Council chairperson, Hokhuli Sema in her speech, stated that the 468 blood pressure instruments (LCD Deluxe DLX Cuff BATT, ADPT, BPDGI34, Diamond) were being donated as CII COVID Relief and Response Initiative under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
On receiving the BP instruments, principal director of H&FW, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi expressed gratitude to the CII for its generous donation.
He stated that their dedication to the community will not go unnoticed as such act of thoughtfulness will help many patients in the treatment and detection of blood pressure related diseases.
Further, the principal director expressed hope to seeing more inspiring participation towards making a mark in the state.
In the introductory note, state head CII Nagaland Branch Kohima, Chuba Ozukum informed that the donation was intended to be handed over earlier but it was delayed due to the pandemic and other inconveniences.
He however, mentioned that the council was happy to donate the instruments in the presence of the department officials.
It may be mentioned that this was a contribution to the state government’s COVID readiness across the health centers in the districts.
The cost of the BP instruments is around Rs. 13 lakh and the project was done under the initiative of CII Nagaland state head, members, advisor CII North East, Brig Ashis Bhattacharyya and team from CII CSR Foundation, who approved the relief proposal.
