In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, various NGOs and civil society organizations in Kohima conducted a district-wide goodwill outreach on the occasion of Nagaland’s 79th Independence Day, celebrated on August 15, 2025.
According to a DIPR report, participating organizations included the Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union, Puliebadze Club, Lions Club, Royal Club, Classic Club, Rotary Club, Nagaland Voluntary Women Organisation, Indian Red Cross Society (Kohima), Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and Kohima Press Club. Each group visited a designated institution, extending support and solidarity to residents and patients.
The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union visited Bright Morning Star Home, while Puliebadze Club reached out to the District TB & Chest Disease Hospital at Khuzama. The Lions Club interacted with residents of Cherry Blossom at Lerie near the CRPF Camp, and the Royal Club spent time at the Old Age Home.
Classic Club visited the District Jail, Rotary Club called on Cradle Ridge, and the Nagaland Voluntary Women Organisation brought cheer to children at the Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home. The Indian Red Cross Society (Kohima) reached out to patients at the Leprosy Hospital, Nagabazar District Branch, while the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries visited Tabitha Enabling Academy. Members of the Kohima Press Club interacted with residents of the State Mental Health Institute.
