Thetsümi village bodies: The Thetsümi Village Council, along with the Thetsümi Students’ Union (TSU), Youth Society (TYS), and Women Society (TWS), has strongly denounced the molestation and physical assault of a woman from Thetsümi on June 15 in Dimapur. The collective labelled the incident not only a criminal act but a brutal violation of dignity, safety, and humanity.
In a public statement, the village authorities demanded that law enforcement act swiftly and decisively to bring the culprits to justice, emphasizing that justice delayed would only deepen public mistrust. The council affirmed that it would remain vigilant throughout the investigation to ensure full accountability.
The Thetsümi bodies also acknowledged and thanked the brave bystanders who intervened during the incident, applauding their courage and quick response in assisting the victim and apprehending the accused. Gratitude was also extended to civil society groups and media outlets for their solidarity.

TSUD: The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has issued a strong condemnation of the June 15 molestation incident involving a Tenyimi woman who was allegedly assaulted by a male co-passenger while traveling in a moving vehicle. Calling the act “cruel and inhuman,” the union urged authorities to deliver immediate and decisive justice.
In a press statement, TSUD emphasized that such behavior is a gross violation of human dignity and called for firm societal rejection of all forms of sexual abuse. The union stressed the importance of strict law enforcement and recommended the installation of surveillance mechanisms in public transport.

CAKSU also criticized the alleged misuse of tribal identity by non-locals, labeling it a dangerous trend and demanding proper verification by authorities. DRYO: Vehemently condemning the incident, Dimapur Rengma Youth Organisation (DRYO) demanded strict action against the accused.
DRYO through its media cell also demanded that law enforcement agencies conduct thorough investigation and ensure justice was served to the victim and society.
DDADU: Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) through its president Tito Yeptho condemned the incident and demanded the responsible authorities to properly investigate and deliver justice.
DDADU informed that the autorickshaw in question was hired by the accused from rail gate no.1 to be dropped at 4th Mile.
The union assured to take action against autorickshaw driver if he was found guilty.
DRSU: The Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union (DRSU) has condemned the sexual assault of a Naga woman, calling it a disturbing violation of safety and human rights.
Describing the act as “cowardly and inhumane,” DRSU appealed to authorities for immediate and strict legal action against the accused, who have already been identified. The union emphasized the importance of not allowing such crimes to be met with silence or indifference.
DRSU extended its support to the victim and commended the members of the public who intervened and reported the incident. It also urged the administration, law enforcement, and judiciary to ensure a transparent and expedited justice process.
The union called for stronger public safety measures and more rigorous background checks on commercial transport operators to prevent similar incidents in the future. Reinforcing its commitment to justice and dignity, DRSU appealed for collective action to make public spaces safer for all women.
DNYO: Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO) strongly condemned the shocking and shameful incident that happened on June 15.
In a condemnation note, DNYO expressed deep concern over the inhumane incident and urged the authorities to take prompt and stringent action against those involved.
DNYO appealed to the concerned authorities to deny bail to the accused, stating that granting bail would send a wrong message. The organisation further cautioned that any individual or group attempting to arrange bail or protect the accused will be held equally responsible and urged the authorities to handle the case with full transparency and without leniency.
DNYO stands in complete solidarity with the victim and her family, extending full support in their pursuit of justice.
The individuals involved in the incident are hereby permanently banned from entering or setting foot in 4th Mile, Diphupar, and are no longer welcomed in the community under any circumstances.
DCC: Dimapur Chakhesang Council (DCC) strongly condemned the reprehensible act of molestation against a Chakhesang woman.
In a press release, DCC stated that the barbaric act against their sister will have lasting physical, emotional, and mental impacts on her. The DCC expressed unwavering solidarity, full support, and deep empathy for the victim.
Stating that such individuals have no place in a civilized society, DCC demanded immediate and stern action from the government and law enforcement, calling for the two perpetrators to be booked under non-bailable offences and not released under any circumstances. They also appealed for strict punishment to set an example.
The DCC urged the concerned Auto Driver Union to immediately suspend Nur Islam’s membership and driving privileges.
