Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant is scheduled to visit Sikkim to attend a conference on May 1 and 2, an official statement said on Monday.
He would participate in the National Conference on Technology and Judicial Education, scheduled to be held in Gangtok.
The conference is being organised by the High Court of Sikkim, and will also be attended by judges of the Supreme Court and several high courts, it said.
In preparation for the visit, a high-level coordination meeting was held at the state secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary R Telang.
The meeting reviewed arrangements related to protocol, security, transportation, accommodation, and venue readiness to ensure a smooth and successful visit of the CJI and other distinguished guests.
Officials emphasised the importance of seamless coordination among departments, given the stature of the visiting dignitaries, the statement added.
