CJP accuses govt of reneging on deal, warns of fresh protest

NEW DELHI, JUL 27 (AGENCIES): Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday alleged that the government had failed to honour its assurance of no retaliatory action against protesters, claiming that hundreds of students and volunteers were being detained and arrested in Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Delhi and other states despite the withdrawal of its 36-day agitation.
Addressing a press conference with independent Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal, CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das said the organisation had sought legal guidance to protect protesters from possible future action.
CJP also launched ‘Saakshi’, an online evidence vault allowing protesters and witnesses to upload original photos and videos. The platform generates a cryptographic fingerprint for each file, creating a tamper-evident record that can be shared through verified legal-aid channels.
Ranka warned that the CJP would resume protests if FIRs against protesters were not withdrawn and those detained were not released.
