Cleanliness drive conducted in Lahorijan

With a view to create more awareness in regard to keeping a healthier environment, a cleanliness drive was initiated by the employees of Lahorijan toll tax led by Shivnath Singh on March 26.
The drive was conducted with the support of Lahorijan Sarkari Gaonbura, Lahorijan Bazaar Association, Khatkhati Police authority, SDO (civil) Bokajan, residents of Lahorijan and shop owners in the area.
Local residents including youngsters participated in the drive which started from Nagaland gate to Karagaon Junction.
Shivnath, a local businessman said, it was important to keep one’s surrounding clean which was often overlooked by the business community as it was also part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) where the society should be benefitted through various initiatives taken up by business people.
He said, through the cleanliness drive, he wanted to set examples that it was not just gaining through business but giving back to the people in return for the benefits that were gained through the business which was important.
