Changpang Village Council (CVC) has appointed its new office bearers and executive members of Changpang Land Owners’ Union (CLOU) for a period of three years w.e.f. May 10, 2015 to May 10, 2018 till further order.
In a press release, CVC chairman S. Thungjamo Odyuo and head GB Changpang village Nchumbemo Kithan informed that Chumjamo Kikon and Jerry Odyou have been appointed as the president and general secretary of CLOU respectively along with eight other officer bearers and three executive members.
Further, the signatories stated that the union would work to solve “long pending cases of Petroleum and Natural Gas activities” at Changpang Oil Field in collaboration with Changpang village council in delivering “justice” and that it will work for the interest and welfare of the public.
It also stated that the union would perform its duties/activities in collaboration with the Changpang village council. It affirmed to solve any kind of land and properties disputes so as to maintain peaceful atmosphere amongst the villagers of Changpang village.
