The hearing of the case pertaining to chief minister T.R. Zeliang’s education qualification issue would be held on June 14, 2016. After taking over from his predecessor, Peren’s judicial magistrate first class, Somet Chumden Chang in an order stated that the summon be issued to the respondent in person (dasti) and to inform the parties counsel for the hearing listed for 14.06.2016.
In the order, Chang had stated that the complainant along with his counsel “appeared and prayed” to court to fix the next date of hearing and also for the service of summon on the respondent in dasti. The request was heard and accordingly allowed by the JMFC.
Meanwhile, in pursuance of the Guahati High Court, Kohima bench order (25.04.16), passed in criminal revision petition no. (1) K 2016, JMFC stated that his court was directed to start afresh. Accordingly, the parties shall be heard on the issue of limitation, the order stated.
