CM extends New Year greetings

Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang has extended New Year greetings to all the citizens of the state.
In a message, Zeliang said it was time to “introspect and reflect” on the past, including the journeys that “we” have collectively undertaken as Nagas. He said it was also time to strive “harder” to build a better society based on our age old traditions and customs which brought people together.
Stressing on peace and reconciliation, Zeliang said the Nagas would not be able to give much to the world if they continued with “stagnant mindsets.”
Pointing out that Nagas have waited long for a solution to the vexed political problem, the chief minister said the solution alone could bring permanent peace to the land.
“Very few people realize what consequences the Naga people will face, if we allow the problem to drag on for many more years to come,” Zeliang said.
The chief minister said that if “our people” were serious with unique identity and history, there was no reason why the Centre or the world would not be serious about the Nagas. Asserting the time has come for all to be decisive, he said every section of people should accept that there was a need to resolve the decades old Naga political issues so that Nagas could progress and move forward. Zeliang exuded confidence that 2015 would be a year of blessings for all the Nagas.
