On the occasion of the 70th Independence Day, chief minister T.R. Zeliang on Monday flagged-off eight Customized Rescue Operation Vehicles (CROV) provided by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) under Home department at the Secretariat Plaza.
Home department officials said that the state government was committed in its efforts to continually augment its disaster response capabilities.
The Customized Rescue Operation vehicles would be placed at strategic locations in the state and these vehicles would be used for recovery and rescue operations during emergency and also to create awareness on disaster responses in the villages.
