CM lays foundation stone of CHC Satakha

State chief minister Neiphiu Rio Saturday laid the foundation stone of community health centre (CHC) Satakha, at Satakha town under Zunheboto district, which was sanctioned last year.

Making an appeal on the people of the district, while reminding that Zunheboto was known as the ‘land of warriors’, Rio said the term did not imply only one aspect but had many other meanings such as being peace warriors and also that warriors need to keep their health fit and healthy.

He said excess consumption of meat or sugar etc. could also be harmful to health. Rio, therefore, asked them to always keep body fit and fine. 

The chief minister also advised the doctors and nurses to not only treat the disease, but also create awareness about what was causing the disease and what one should eat to keep healthy. He also expressed hope that through the upgradation of public health centre to CHC it will certainly benefit the people of Satakha sub-division in particular and Sumis in general. 

 On the occasion, the chief minister also highlighted about the air cargo service recently launched in Dimapur which should enable sale of local produce like pineapples, avocados, cucumbers, kiwi, plum to other states for commercialization and provide farmers maximum profit. He also informed that a cold storage facility was available in Dimapur and advised the farmers to make good use of it. 

 Also speaking on the occasion, Principal secretary health and family welfare, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, asserted that the public of the area have genuine needs to get the best possible healthcare services closer to their homes. 

He said that the foundation stone laying was a definitely a step towards meeting the aspirations of the people. Bhatia also expressed hope that soon the department would be able to upgrade the infrastructure and provide more doctors as per the CHC requirements. He also informed the people about Ayushman Bharat, which provides health insurance of up to Rs.5 lakh and provide free treatments covering surgeries, medical and day care, cost of medicine and diagnostic test.

 Sumi Hoho president Hekhushe Shikhu in his speech said people demand that ministers and MLAs bring development to the place, but when the government projects arrive, they refuse to give the land. Also he said people ask for good roads but refuse to part with an inch of the lands. Shikhu therefore, urged upon the people to provide lands so that development would come to their place.

Minister of agriculture and cooperation G. Kaito Aye, in his speech, extended gratitude to the chief minister and his colleagues for fulfilling the long-awaited dreams of people of Satakha. He said that under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, Satakha would soon get a PHE SDO, electrical SDO, BDO office and quarters and sub-treasury office soon.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by CMO Zunheboto Dr. Akaho Sema, while dedicatory prayer was offered by Satakha Town Baptist church Women Pastor Vivika H Chishi, welcome address delivered by G Kakuto Shohe while additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Satakha TL Kiusumong Tikhir proposed vote of thanks.
