As part of the Chief Minister Mobile Operation Theatre (CM-MOT) initiative, free surgical camps were conducted at CHC Bhandari, Wokha on July 28 and at CHC Tseminyu Old Town on July 25, providing healthcare services to hundreds in remote areas.
According to DIPR report, the Bhandari camp was inaugurated by Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütsa, MLA, who highlighted CM-MOT as a state-led initiative launched on January 26, 2025, to improve healthcare access in rural Nagaland. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for the visionary effort and urged citizens to avail healthcare schemes like PMJAY and CMHIS.
Dr. Rhütsa acknowledged support from Achumbemo Kikon MLA, CHC Bhandari staff, ADC Bhandari, Deputy Commandant 7th NAP Bhandari and local NGOs for successful implementation. Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the team’s service to underprivileged communities.
Chaired by SMO CHC Bhandari, Dr. Caroline T., the medical team included six doctors from public and private sectors. Facilities provided included ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, blood testing, and equipment for general and minimally invasive surgeries. Over 20 surgeries and 53 OPD cases were handled at Bhandari.
At CHC Tseminyu, the CM-MOT team led by Dr. Rhütsa treated 265 OPD patients. The camp saw 13 minor and seven major surgeries along with 57 dental procedures. The camp was supported by DPDB chairman Ar. Jwenga Seb MLA, DC Japhet Woch, SP Tseminyu, Town Council members, Village Councils and public leaders.
Since its launch, CM-MOT has performed over 500 surgeries in 17 locations, bridging healthcare gaps in Nagaland’s rural districts.
