CM mourns demise of former Gov’s wife

Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed deep sadness over the demise of late Ishani Datta, wife of Shyamal Datta, former Governor of Nagaland, who passed away on December 24.
In a condolence message, Rio said late Ishani was a very good role model as a wife, a mother and a grandmother, who stood by her family through all kinds of situations.
Rio described late Ishani as a warm-hearted and kind soul, who would always be remembered for her pleasant personality and her supportive role all throughout her husband’s career.
He said late Ishani’s absence would be dearly missed but the wonderful memories she had left behind would be cherished for all times to come.
Further, Rio said his family joins him in conveying their deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God would give them comfort and strength to bear the irreparable loss, and for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
