NSCN (I-M): NSCN (I-M) has strongly condemned the killing and alleged mutilation of victims by what it described as Kuki terrorist gangs and their frontal Kuki Village volunteers, terming the acts as crimes against humanity and a gross violation of human dignity.
In a statement issued by its MIP, the group said the atrocities were blatant crimes against humanity and savage violation of human dignity and maintained that even in times of conflict; universal moral norms demand absolute respect for the deceased. It said that the deliberate desecration of bodies was intended to spread terror, weaponise fear, and inflict psychological trauma on grieving families and communities.
NSCN (I-M) demanded that the Government of India immediately outlaw the groups involved and formally designate them as terrorist organisations. It asserted that the deliberate targeting of civilians, use of extreme violence, and desecration of the dead constituted acts of terrorism by and argued that groups involved in such depraved acts should be stripped of all political legitimacy. It said that failure to crush these organizations would only embolden further atrocities and destroy any chance for justice and peace.
The group further urged the Government of India to act swiftly and decisively to target these gangs with full force of the law.
It further stated that while Indian security forces allegedly manhandle womenfolk like ragdolls for exercising their democratic right to protest, assault student activists, and forcibly disband village guards formed because the Government of India has failed to safeguard the basic rights, security and dignity of the people, the same forces were unwilling to prevent, and were accused of facilitating, the brutal killing of Naga people by Kuki terrorist gangs widely perceived as their proxies.
The group questioned how such actions could be reconciled with the principles of justice, equality and protection that the Government of India is constitutionally bound to uphold.
NSCN (I-M) expressed condolences to the families of the victims and said it stood in solidarity with all those affected. It also asserted that it would leave no stone unturned until those responsible for this savage act were brought to justice.
