State chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio Wednesday came down heavily on the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) for the worsening condition of National Highway-29 (Pagala Pahar stretch).
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of an event, Dr. Rio expressed dissatisfaction with the NHIDCL by alleging that it was not working scientifically.
He also expressed doubts on the capability of the contractors. “We are really upset and unhappy with them,” the chief minister said.
Dr.Rio asserted that poor condition of the road has led to so much mess, causing problems for the public.
Asked whether he plans to raise the issue directly with NHIDCL, Dr.Rio informed he will take up the matter with Ministry after Independence Day. Dr.Rio said he would submit a detailed report and serious discussions would follow.
