CM Rio mourns demise of Dr. Vikethonyü

DIMAPUR: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Dr. Vikethonyü Kesiezie, Managing Director of Oking Hospital and Research Clinic, Kohima, on August 17.
In a condolence message to Mrs. Zothangpui (Pui) Kesiezie, Rio said Dr. Vikethonyü leaves behind a lasting impact in the field of healthcare in Nagaland. Under his leadership, Oking Hospital became one of the State’s premier private hospitals, contributing significantly to strengthening healthcare and making quality medical care accessible.
He noted that Dr. Vikethonyü’s humanitarian commitment was reflected in various outreach programmes, including the hospital’s association with the Smile Train Shija Cleft Project- Mission Nagaland, which provided free corrective surgeries, medicines and support to children and adults with cleft lip and palate. Beyond his professional contributions, Rio remembered Dr. Vikethonyü as a dear friend-simple, kind hearted and down to earth. He said he would always cherish their friendship and memories of planting trees and visiting orchards together.
“His was a life well lived, with many hearts touched and a legacy of love that will be remembered,” Rio stated.
On behalf of his family, the Chief Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues and all who mourn his passing, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
