
Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and NLA speaker Sharingain Longkumer have expressed shock and pain to learn about the sudden demise of Advocate General of Arunachal Pradesh Nilay Dutta on Sunday.
In his condolence message, Rio said Dutta was not only a successful senior advocate with an impeccable track record but was also a forerunner in sports administration.
He was the former president of the Assam Cricket Association and also an international cricket umpire, he stated.
Describing Dutta as a sincere, consistent and detail-oriented person, Rio said his demise was a great loss for the State of Assam in particular and the entire North Eastern region in general.
Rio conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Speaker: Sharingain Longkumer said that Dutta was not only a highly respected and acknowledged senior legal practitioners, but was also a mentor to many, and his unfortunate demise was a great loss to the legal fraternity.
“We have lost a distinguished lawyer and an iconic figure who made rich contributions both in the court and other fields including in sports administration.,” Longkumer said.
Longkumer conveyed sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
