
As part of the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM) for maintaining peace and tranquillity within the Chakhesang area and to ensure smooth conduct of electioneering processes, Chakhesang Mothers Association (CMA) and its units have been checking alcohol or intoxicating items in possession or transporting within Chakhesang jurisdiction.
Talking to media person near Lekromi village on Friday, CMA volunteers informed that its members in various locations under Chakhesang jurisdiction has seized numerous liquor and intoxicating items and also informed that it would continue until the general assembly is completed.
In the best interest of the community, the members said that CMA has been authorised to set up social check gate to stop any moving or stationary suspicious vehicle or person at any place deem fit or justified and carry out this “social-evil controlling measures” within the Chakhesang area during the ensuing election period. However vehicles of security forces, district administration and ECI election observers are exempted.
Further, CMA members appealed all peace loving citizens for cooperation and apologised for the inconvenience(s) cause to any individual or groups.
