CNC appeal for ‘Naga National Prayer Day’

Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has appealed to all the leaders of churches and non-Christian religious bodies to observe the National Prayer Day on October 15.

In a statement, Council of Nagalim Churches general secretary Rev. Seksim Kasar said that during the prayer summit of October 25, 2018 at Agri Expo, Chümoukedima, “by the will of God, Christian leaders across the land of the Nagas expressed their wishes to have a Day of Prayer of the Naga Nation”, for which CNC was entrusted to make it possible.

Consequently, CNC obtained national recognition from the Naga National Assembly of May 31, 2022, held at GHQ, Hebron. Subsequently, the collective leadership proclaimed designating the third Sunday of October every year as Naga National Prayer Day.

In this regard, this year’s national prayer day will be observed under the theme “Choose Life” (Duet. 30:19,20), the council stated. The council also listed out the prayer points– confessional prayer for self, prayer of repentance for the forgiveness of the sins of the nation, prayer of blessings for, the collective Leadership and national leaders, all the national workers in civil set-ups including regional workers, army chief and all the army in units and frontline, national political prisoners and victims and their families, prayer for Indo-Naga Peace Process.

It also appealed all to pray for Indian Prime Minister and Indian national authorities, for an honorable solution to Indo Naga political issue, prayer for Naga people (general public), leaders of the people, each and every tribe/community and village.
