DIMAPUR, MAY 28 (NPN): Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has welcomed the outcome of the second consultative meeting between Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) and Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) held on May 27 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
In a press release, CNCCI chairman Dr. Khekugha Muru and general secretary Avi Chase said the resolution adopted during the meeting marked a historic and significant step towards strengthening unity, brotherhood and collective responsibility among the Nagas of Nagaland.
It stated that the coming together of all apex tribal bodies under a common platform reflected the long-cherished aspiration of the Nagas of Nagaland through mutual understanding, cooperation and the spirit of oneness.
CNCCI said the development was not merely the formation of another organisation, but a landmark moment in the collective journey of the Naga people towards greater unity and shared common purpose built through sincere efforts and trust. The chamber also expressed hope that with the demands and aspirations of ENPO moving towards fulfilment through the tripartite Memorandum of Agreement signed between Government of India, Nagaland government and ENPO, the people of Nagaland would collectively rise above differences and work towards achieving an honourable and peaceful settlement of the Indo-Naga political talks.
Further, CNCCI said the present tribal leaders carried a historic responsibility to facilitate an early Indo-Naga political settlement and ensure lasting peace, stability and opportunities for younger generations.
Meanwhile, CNCCI appealed to NTHCC to remain vigilant against individuals or leaders working for personal agenda, political survival or vested interests and cautioned that history would judge those who sought to divide rather than unite the Nagas at this critical point in history.
